Through a friend I learned about Melanie Baldwin, a woman who beat breast and bone cancer in one hip, and now has cancer in her liver, spine, and other hip. At this point, many people would be so focused on their pain and health that it would be difficult to deal with anything else. And understandably so. That's an overwhelming battle for anyone and I can't imagine going through it.
Melanie is also a mother to a son who has severe autism and requires 24/7 care. Reading her blog, I was amazed at this woman who shares her Christian faith and the struggles she goes through while advocating for her son. I was moved by how Melanie shared her story under the name "Booty Kicker" in the Thinking Moms' Revolution's book, Autism Beyond the Spectrum.
I would like to share her Give Forward fundraiser page in hopes that we can help her get the money necessary for her to provide care for her son while she gets her treatments. Please consider donating to help Melanie with her health. Every little bit helps and I know she appreciates it, as would any of us if we were in her spot.
