Our First Anniversary

The hubs did survive his first year married to me. Either I was very well behaved or he's very strong. Our Anniversary was Saturday & we took a 4 day vacation to celebrate. It was perfect fall weather the whole time and the leaves were turning. And we had no children, no homework, no work, no phone calls, no interruptions. I didn't know that was possible!

I planned our vacation & I gave the hubs directions piece by piece on the way down but he wasn't so sure of where we were going. After about 2 hours in the car he asked me if I planned on allowing him to come back home. After I didn't answer him, this was our conversation...
Hubby: "Where in the world are you taking me?"
Me: "Bwahahaha."
Hubby: "I don't know where we're going, I don't know the name of the town, I don't know what's going on."
Me: "Bwahahaha."
Hubby: "Will we even have cell service? Oh, dear God, you're taking me where no one will hear me scream!"
Me: "Keep driving, lil boy."
Hubby: "I'm scared."

The symbol for the first year is paper, which makes gift giving a fun little challenge. What can you give that's paper? Cash? Nah, too impersonal. Medical bill? Nuh-uh, something he doesn't see every day. Divorce papers? Hmm, more than I wanted to spend. I had thought of getting the hubby man a dot to dot book that was in green & red. He would think it was just a bunch of blank pages. 'Cause he's, you know, color blind. That would be funny & I like to laugh. I decided that was so good I had to save it for Christmas.

I had a book of sexy pictures made for him. Of me. I had thought of just cutting up a couple Victoria's Secret & Frederick's catalogs & making a scrapbook of those women but that would have required a lot of work. It was easier for me to pose than to open the catalogs, cut out all nicely (no sloppy cutting for gifts, people), find a glue stick that's not dried out, glue the pictures onto pages, blah blah blah...just thinking about that wears me out...And hubby actually likes me being in the book better. Who knew!
Two of the pictures that I'm allowed to share with people.

The cute little cottage we stayed in had a heart shaped whirlpool tub. We could have fit 4 people in that tub. If we were the type to do that. But we're not, so we didn't. Well, unless Pink & Ellen DeGeneres came along with us, but they didn't. I did, however, do something that reminded hubby why it's not just my red hair that makes me so much like my idol Lucille Ball...
Lesson learned: when putting bubbles into the tub, do not consider the size of the tub & use half the bottle; instead consider whether you will be turning on the jets. Yeah...oops. He's sitting in about 4 inches of water and about 27 inches of bubbles. We made bubblemen.

And here's a picture of us, on our Anniversary vacation, at one of the places we toured. A random stranger walking by said we should have a picture of us that wasn't taken at arm's length with no background, so he took this for us. And he actually gave the camera back when he was done! Idiot. It's a really nice camera.
